What we do

That Lazy Cat is a small, independent children’s book publisher inspired by Casper the laziest cat in the world.

We create Children’s books that entertain, enthuse, excite and make children want to read more and more.

We take children’s books and translate them into innovative commercial ideas, because a book is not just a book, it is a world of adventure.

We want to work with

We want to work with authors, illustrators and other creative people, who believe in the same adventure as we do. Whether it is making children laugh out loud or hide behind a pillow. We want children to read our books and say “One more no more.”

What excites us

if we get excited by the idea then we will work together to try and get the rest of the world excited.

Though small we think big

New technology Apps, ebooks, websites, Facebook, Twitter are all part of the marketing mix to get our books out there in print. But what fun to see, our ideas also on the big screen or as a cuddly toy.

We are not alone

We may be small, but we belong to a big industry. That Lazy Cat is a member of the Publishers Association (www.publishers.org.uk)

Show us what you can do

We’re on the lookout for projects that excite us from new authors, illustrators, and other creative talent.
We look to publish books for children at pre-school, reception and year1.
We would look to our authors to be willing to publicise and do book readings in primary schools.
We look to distribute to bookshops within the UK and abroad.
